After reaching the playoffs in 2020 and winning the AL Central with a 93-69 record the following year, the White Sox seemed poised to establish themselves as the divisions alpha dog in 2022. Because of a below-average lineup, on its best days, the Marlins exciting rotation will be wasted. Adam Wainwright was ridiculous down the stretch last season and it's hard to bet against him, but he's also 40 years old. The top of the rotation remains dominant with Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola, and the biggest weakness the bullpen was improved with the signings of Brad Hand, Jeurys Familia and Corey Knebel. Detroit is also expecting rookies Spencer Torkelson and Riley Greene to make the jump to the majors and provide the offense with the jolt it lacked in 2021. I'm counting on a huge year from Matt Chapman (as outlined in the preview) while the rotation has a full year of Jos Berros, a full year of Alek Manoah and newly-signed Kevin Gausman coming. The biggest thing we like about the Rays is their wealth of pitching, a crucial factor in a season where arms will be tested more than ever.
